We are experts in the field of minimally invasive devices and excited to collaborate to develop innovative clinical applications.
Minimally invasive procedures refers to surgical techniques that limit the size of incisions needed, or has a short recovery time. Many procedures involve the use of arthroscopic or laparoscopic devices, and remote-control manipulation of instruments with indirect observation through an endoscope or large display panel. The surgery is usually carried out through the skin or through a small body cavity or anatomical opening.
It is important to consider the design requirements when developing a device that will be used in minimally invasive procedures.
We help you anticipate and avoid obstacles specific to this clinical area. Common Challenges for minimally invasive devices include:
Every innovation starts with a need and a solution. Through a series of intake questionnaires, we evaluate the technology and business opportunity, understanding the user and market needs. User needs are translated into design features, communicated with 3D models and renders. A prototype & testing plan is outlined, materials are selected, and prototype development starts. Client's and our team review to identify improvements for future design iterations.
The only things you need to start a project are an idea. We will learn more about your technology via a series of questions during our free discovery call! A picture is worth 1,000 words. Previous work and project resources (including doodles and napkin sketches) may help us get a better understanding of your product but are not necessary to start a project.
Our sales & engineering team will evaluate your stage of technology and understand your goals. Merge offers rapid design and prototyping services starting from $5,000. For insights and consulting, we can advise based on an hourly rate.
No. We are a venture studio that prepares devices for advanced development and funding. We develop and manufacture small batch prototypes (less than 20 units) for feasibility and animal studies.
Merge is a work-for-hire innovation provider. Client's retain 100% of intellectual property. Merge will assign IP rights back to the Client.
We do not operate under an ISO controlled quality system. We have standard operating procedures that allow for design and process traceability
